When it rains at Le Mans, the endurance racing gods truly test the mettle of their drivers. On Sunday, Hyperion Racing's three teams tackled one of the most treacherous conditions ever seen in the CMS Endurance and iRTES 2025 leagues. Across three events, the team demonstrated resilience, precision, and moments of brilliance. Here’s how it all unfolded.
Hyperion II - Climbing the Championship Ladder
Camden Kraft and Dávid Végh piloted Hyperion II in the CMS iRTES 2025 event, with high hopes for a strong finish. The duo faced challenging conditions but proved their preparation was up to par.
Camden qualified in P4 and started the race but struggled with an early spin on the Mulsanne. Despite this setback, his composure shone as he clawed back positions. Close calls—including narrowly avoiding a spinning car in the Porsche Curves—showed his ability to adapt under pressure.
Handing over to Dávid in P2, the team looked poised for a sensational result. Dávid showcased blistering pace, reeling in the leader despite mounting incident points. A collision with a GT3 late in the race triggered a drive-through penalty, leaving the team scrambling to serve it on the final lap. Post-race penalties dropped them out of contention for the win, but their P2 finish skyrocketed Hyperion II from 11th to 3rd in the championship standings.
Kraft summed it up perfectly: "It wasn’t a perfect race, but it was exactly what we needed for our championship.”
Hyperion III - Grit and Determination in Endurance
In the CMS Endurance race, Hyperion III—driven by Willy Brennan, Alex Rogers, and Josiah—embodied perseverance. After a shaky qualifying session left them starting in P13, Willy drove a zero-incident opening stint, battling through spray-filled chaos to climb to P6.
Alex Rogers carried the torch in the second stint, combining skill and strategy to stretch their fuel, handing the car over in P2 with a real shot at the podium. But disaster struck when Josiah faced hardware issues, forcing Willy back into the car under less-than-ideal circumstances.
A pit lane speeding penalty and mounting fatigue made the final stint a grueling test of endurance. Still, Willy clawed back positions, securing a hard-fought P6 with a dramatic last-lap pass. The team’s combined effort showed their fighting spirit and left them optimistic for the next round.
Hyperion I - Pole Position and a Rollercoaster Race
Luke Wallace and Turner Schroll took the helm for Hyperion I in the CMS/iRTES Endurance event. Luke delivered an exceptional qualifying lap, earning pole position and setting the stage for a strong race.
Early laps went smoothly, but a collision caused by netcode damage sent the team to the pits for a fast repair. Later, Luke suffered a spin exiting Corvette Corner, leading to significant damage and a 10-minute repair that set the team back to P28.
Turner entered the fray determined to recover. Despite worsening rain, he kept the car clean, steadily climbing the order to finish P22 overall and P14 in GT3 Pro. The result was far from their goal, but Turner’s consistency under pressure offered a silver lining for the team.
A Team United by Passion
Le Mans proved a mixed bag for Hyperion Racing, but their shared resilience, meticulous preparation, and adaptability in adverse conditions shone through. Whether it was the championship boost for Hyperion II, the dogged determination of Hyperion III, or the recovery drive of Hyperion I, each team demonstrated why they are a force to be reckoned with on the endurance stage.
As Hyperion Racing shifts focus to the next rounds, one thing is certain: they’ve laid a strong foundation for future success. Whether it’s rain, shine, or chaos, this team is ready for anything.
